Tempering |
Tempering normally is the
follow up treatment of hardening processes. The aim is to
achieve the highest possible ductility with the predetermined
hardness. Depending on the material and the previous heat
treatment process tempering has to be applied up to four times.
Tempering has to be carried out after every single hardening
process since the work piece, in its brittle condition, is
not applicable for any purpose.
